Mech Series Steam Turbine Generators
Gear-reduced steam turbine driving your rotating equipment
Need a non-electric drive for a pump, fan or compressor?
In cases where an electric motor is not acceptable or not preferred, a steam turbine can be used to efficiently drive rotating equipment. AirClean’s Mech Series are designed to fulfill these requirements. AirClean will work with you to select your rotating equipment or couple to existing as required for your application.
Is An AirClean Energy Sync Series STG Right For You?
The Mech Series STG’s are engineered for peak performance, long-life, and low-maintenance operation. These units come in two distinct flavors: Coupled Gearbox (CG) and Integral Gearbox (IG).
- Mech-CG (Coupled Gearbox) STG’s are the older siblings to the Indy Series STG’s. These skid-mounted units consist of a steam turbine, reduction gear, turbine generator control system, and your rotating equipment. They are ideal for emergency cooling pumps and fans which need to operate even when plant power is offline.
- Mech-IG (Integral Gearbox) STG’s stand apart from the Mech-CG’s in terms of power output and efficiency. These units can handle much larger steam flows than the Mech-CG’s. Their unique turbine/gearbox design gives them efficiencies which are competitive with small multi-stage turbines with simpler commissioning and maintenance. They can be configured with a single turbine wheel (Mech-IG-1) or two wheels (Mech-IG-2) when especially large flows or mid-pressure steam extraction is required.
Our Mech Series STG’s are customized for your facility. Packaged for easy installation, they include control systems designed for intuitive operator interaction and use PLC-based monitoring systems for vibration, temperature and overspeed trips.
